5 Benefits of MTCSS Cold Room Panels

June 2022

MTCSS’ cold room panel range has a variety of benefits…

MTCSS offer cold storage solutions to an impressive number of industries, and have a huge range of services and products available so that no matter your requirement, we’ve got you covered.

We also house a large range of cold room, cold room door and refrigerated cabinet spares on the MTCSS Shop with next day delivery*, so if your walk-in fridge or freezer breaks, you’ve got no need to worry (*subject to sock levels and orders placed before 1pm).

Recently, MTCSS unveiled our new cold room panel range, MT Chill and MT Freeze; these insulated panels are available to be supplied and installed for cold room projects, but they are also available for supply only – the perfect solution to design and build your own cold room.

Both MT Chill and MT Freeze cold room panels are PIR insulated and CFC & HCFC-free. But what about the many other benefits of them?

1. Walk-in Cold Room Insulation and Energy Efficiency

Cold rooms that constantly maintain low temperatures need higher, more reliable levels of insulation so that they can ensure the internal temperatures are maintained, and their products aren’t ruined.

Poor quality cold room panels result in a poorly insulated cold room, and a poorly insulated cold room can result in the temperatures becoming too high.

When the temperature of your cold room is too high, the refrigeration unit has to work harder, using more energy, which can result in your energy bills increasing. This worry about your energy consumption levels can be eliminated with MT Chill and MT Freeze cold room panels.

Our cold room panels range from 60mm to 120mm thickness (with 80mm and 100mm panels in stock for quick delivery!), ensuring that no matter the temperature you require, whether it be an ambient temperature-controlled room at +30°C or a walk-in freezer at 30°C, your walk-in cold room will be reliably insulated and as a result energy efficient.

2. Cold Room Project Versatility

Both our MT Chill and MT Freeze panels are the perfect cold storage solution, no matter your business, industry or requirements. This means they can be turned into a large amount of different cold room and temperature-controlled room projects. Some of the most common examples are;

Food safe areas; our cold room panels are the ideal solution for businesses that fall within the food and drink industry – both retail and manufacturing. As a result of the panels comprising of PIR and CFC, they offer maximum thermal insulation, ensuring that your food and drink products are safe and will be maintained to your chosen temperature range.
Ambient areas; because of its insulation properties, MTCSS’ cold room panel range is suitable for usage in maintaining positive temperatures as well as negative! Maintaining temperatures from +10°c to +30°c, ambient rooms are perfect for office spaces, pharmaceutical & medical storage and even dividing walls within warehouses.

Our team can help you install the ideal temperature-controlled solution for your business with the help of our panel range.

3. Fire Rated Panels

Both MT Chill and MT Freeze are manufactured with a fire reaction class of “B-s1, d0according to the EC Declaration of Conformity and laboratory testing, meaning that it has a very limited likelihood of contributing to a fire. As well as this, they have a thermal conductivity coefficient of 10°C (UNI EC12667): 0.020-0.023 W/mk.

Not only do our cold room panels comply with government legislation, but they also help us offer the highest quality insulated panels to our customers.

4. High-Quality Panels for Walk-In Cold Rooms

A high-quality cold room panel is one of the most important factors when building a cold room solution.

The structure of your walk-in freezer or fridge is maintained by cold room panels – they are the foundations of your cold room. Without a high-quality panel, you risk both the structural integrity of your walk-in fridge and the spoilage of products inside.

Luckily, MT Chill and MT Freeze are made from high-quality products coupled with fire ratings, which allows for your temperature-controlled room to run optimally and for a long time.
